I walk one of the oldest known tracks in England !
The Sweet Track a Neolithic wooden track on the Somerset levels near Glastonbury built 5,830 years ago . The track was constructed using wood spears and planking to facilitate a 2km walkway above the boggy marshland . The track was discovered by Ray Sweet a peat digger ,the wood was crafted with flint axes and tools by our ancestors.
I walk to the area on a Bronze Age/ Iron age pinned track eventually ending at the replica of the Sweet Track which follows the exact route of the original track. A true walk in history that connects me to our Neolithic ancestors !
