This video was recorded on the 20th of December, 2025. It was the only day I was free before me and my family would be busy with Christmas and New Year, and thus leaving me with just this day to record what I could inside the mall before it closes down on December 31. Also, the thumbnail is the area of the mall that I forgot to include in the video's walkthrough, so it was a good thing that I took 21 photos of the mall before I started recording this video.
To be honest, I don't know what to write in this description, aside from the fact that this mall opened in 1993 and is the very first mall in my current city open, 7 years before my father decided to move in here for his work at that time. In 2000, I remember seeing the fountain in the current event center of the mall. I don't know when exactly did the mall decide to dismantle it (probably due to costs), but by 2002 or 2003, it was already gone. I also saw old photos of this mall in a social media site during its opening days where there was a go-kart racing around the parking lot (I should have also walked around there as there are a lot of stalls in the parking lot as well, mostly restaurants, and a newly opened dome tent for general purpose events such as cosplay events).
In my point of view, this mall started its decline in the mid 2000s. Much of the railings that you see in the video, those pink colored ones, retained their color since the mall's opening. It's just sad to see that the mall didn't do much to improve it as by 2010s much of the mall was just ukay ukay stores alongside a food court and the department store. It was also in the 2010s that the cinemas were mostly just airing adult films and some films that already aired a year or two prior to airing them in this mall. To this day, I still have no idea as to why the mall decided to air films that had already aired in other cinemas/malls a year prior (on the films' local release date).
NCCC bought this mall in 2019 and there were actually some plans to dismantle and rebuild it with other building included such as a hotel and other housing buildings, but I guess it never went through, as the reason why this mall is closing on the last day of 2025 is because Robinsons bought the area. I wonder what led to Robinsons buying it or for NCCC to sell it. Regardless of the reason for closing, you can see that despite the mall's decline, many people still visit it. I mean malls are pretty much popular in here the Philippines due to their airconditioned interiors, and you know how hot it gets here especially during the summer season (April until June). Basically malls are still thriving due to people escaping heat, and for hanging out despite the existence of online shopping.
