ℹ️ Have you ever dreamed of walking into Rome like a pilgrim? In this video, we’re sharing the details of our 2026 Greccio to Rome group travel experience—a small-group walking adventure through the beautiful region of Lazio in Italy.
This journey follows part of The Way of St. Francis, starting in the mountain town of Greccio and ending with a triumphant walk into the Eternal City. Along the way we’ll travel through medieval villages, olive groves, vineyards, and historic Roman landscapes while experiencing the culture, food, and spiritual history of central Italy.
Our 13-day experience includes eight walking days (about 83 miles / 133 km) plus time exploring Rome at the end of the pilgrimage. You’ll walk through towns like Rieti, Poggio San Lorenzo, Ponticelli, and Monterotondo before reaching Rome and celebrating the completion of the journey together.
But this trip isn’t just about walking—it’s about experiencing Italy.
🍝 Highlights include:
• Walking through the Sabine Hills and the Tiber Valley on historic pilgrimage routes
• Visiting the sanctuary in Greccio, home of the first live nativity
• Exploring Rome, including the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel
• Cooking classes where you’ll learn to make pasta, gnocchi, and cannoli
• Small-group travel (max 12 people) with daily luggage transfer and group dinners
• Receiving your pilgrim credential, tau necklace, and testimonium from Vatican City
We’ve designed this trip to combine slow travel, pilgrimage, and incredible Italian food—the things we love most about walking through Europe. Along the way you’ll also meet local experts, explore hidden villages, and experience Rome both as a pilgrim and as a traveler.
