VALIN IS NOT GOOD FOR ME. I spent 5 hours doing this despite it beginning as a "1-2 hour edit". Valin encourages me to spend my time editing instead of doing something... more productive. Though I probably been more productive than staring at my screen thinking "I don't wanna do thisss" because it was mostly fun to do and I really like the result.
I didn't add lyrics because a) i didn't have any motivation to do so and I didn't wanna ruin it with half-assed ones, b) I think lyrics would actually ruin the great scene choice I did and c) I ALREADY SPENT 5 HOURS ON THIS IT'S TIME TO STAHP. Just how can I need 5 hours for shit like this?? XD

Anyway, I loved this song ever since Liv edited it with Ash in their Avatar Collab and I just wanted to continue my tradition of stealing SafetySuit songs from Liv to edit with X'D HIII LIV IF YOU READ THIS *waves*
Anyway. I'm also experimenting with thumbnails, tell me what you think of them! ;D And I hope you enjoyed the AMV because it actually was mostly fun to do it! :3
I will try to make... shorter edits for valin X'D I actually didn't want to add any effects but then I loved the raw version so much I needed to improve it a bit haha.

This is my entry for the first day of #NorRayWeek2020!
The prompt is origins and was intended to be used to explain how each of us came to enjoy this dynamic/ship, so heres mine! :3
So, kind of like with Tododeku, i think this really just kind of started by seeing fanart and getting used to it. Both started out kind of being jokingly or like hah okay. I guess I can see it and nowhelpme.
I think this drabble/fic really kind of planted the seeds: https://archiveofourown.org/works/19282192, which is a sort of AU where Ray did have a crush on Norman. Back when I first read it, I didnt really agree with it, but it helped me think of these scenarios in a different, mostly romantic, light. Because goddamn it, Norray has Angst potential. Even more so than NorEmma because well, NorEmma is a thing TvT. At first I kind of shipped it as a one-sided thing because I love pain.
I think the first time I really noticed this re-contextualization is in my get behind this amv and in setting fires it just got even stronger.
And so I began finding them kinda cute, and then I read Smile (https://archiveofourown.org/works/18363830) and ohgodhowdidIenduphere haha.
SO YEAH i had this amv planned and figured I could use it for my Origins since most of why I ship it is in fact just seeing the show in a different light and I tried to portray that here.
Also I hurt myself with Dont try to follow me and I know its not really why Ray is doing it, but come on, the angst potential is unreal AAAAAA.
So yeah. Thats it. Ill probably draw for the rest of NorRay week! (aka Ill probably only do one day, help)

I finished this like a month ago, but I wanted to keep it as a backup for the convention contest Im entering (the video you enter is not allowed to be public anywhere) but now that I sent my actual entry (one day before the deadline like the pro I am) I figured I might as well upload this!
Darling in The Franxx was a very good and emotional show until they thought they could press 1 season worth of story into 5 episodes and thought it would be a good idea to use random aliens and a space battle. I also believe Zero Two lost all of her personality after she was reunited with her Darling(TM) but that wont stop me from finding these two adorable and the smooth animation to die for.
