Five individuals inhabit a room, bound by the act of waiting - each for a different longing. Choreographed and directed by Bobbi Jene Smith & Or Schraiber, "Waiting Places" explores the multitude of emotions that liminal spaces, both physical and psychological, can induce. The film is adapted from a stage work of the same name from 2024, with a cast of current and former Royal Danish Ballet dancers, Astrid Elbo, Alexander Bozinoff and Kizzy Matiakis, collaborating and dancing alongside Bobbi & Or.

Richard Wagner’s music from “Parsifal” and “Tristan und Isolde” transports us into worlds of redemption and Liebestod (love death), metaphysical silence and burning ecstasy. Between these works come two French masterpieces that create their own unique sensuality: Camille Saint-Saëns’ First Cello Concerto is a virtuoso and dramatic concert piece without symphonic pretensions, while Claude Debussy’s “La Mer” is an impressionistic naturalistic panorama, full of movement and refracting sunlight.
