When you think of resin 3D printing, you probably imagine fragile, decorative pieces that look great but fall apart with a sneeze. But here’s the thing — resin and resin 3D printers have evolved in a huge way.
Today’s resins aren’t just for show. There are engineering-grade resins that are as strong and transparent as polycarbonate, high-temperature resins that outperform most plastics, and even tough impact-resistant resins built for functional parts and small-scale production.
In this video, we’re going to use the new HeyGears resin 3d printer, the ultracraft 2, to put modern engineering resin to the test — comparing it to FDM 3d prints and even injection moulded parts to find out if resin can finally do what FDM never could. It's a resin vs. fdm showdown... and spoiler alert: things get impressive.
