Lets Photo The Tulip Nebula With AstroAddict! | Astrophotography
updated
The final image is about 18 hours and I'm very pleased how it came out! I still would've enjoyed it to be a bit cleaner but I reckon I'm using this camera outside its main purpose!

This list is broken down by various popular focal lengths complete with equivalent sensor sizes. No matter your gear, I guarantee you'll find something suitable to photo!
These are all based against a full frame Canon 5D mk3 camera when it comes to the equivalent sizings.
Planets are judged whether they rise above 20 degrees altitude for long enough to be worthwhile, this ensures they get out of the most mucky part of the atmosphere for better seeing conditions.
Feel free to join the conversation in the comments below, what are you imaging this month and what takes your fancy?

For this video I surveyed the community and asked their feelings about the Supermoon, as well as looked at some articles and finding out information.
We begin with a bit of information on orbital mechanics, namings, phases and then the history of the Supermoon and then why do we hate it?
I hope you enjoy. I'm trying new things now with my channel and adding a little more astronomy into it as well as the astrophotography. Let me know your thoughts!

In this video I'll break down my thoughts and feelings about this interesting gadget!
This comet, hailed as the "green comet" comes once every 50,000. Whilst not visible to my eye like Comet Neowise was, ZTF is just as stunning. Join me in this video as I walk through how I went around capturing this comet!

The Night Sky is a curated list of deep sky targets, planets and other events that happen in our night skies during February in the Northern Hemisphere.
All targets are split into focal length ranges and are based off of a full frame camera sensor. However equivalent focal lengths are provided.
To use equivalent sizes is simple. Find the camera you're using and see what focal length I've supplied. This is the focal length of telescope you need to match the example I've suggested.
All planets are from my latitude in the United Kingdom of about 52° North and I only include them if they rise above 20° altitude for a decent amount of time during the month. So depending on how high or low you are will vary your seeing conditions!
Clear skies everyone, keep looking up and keep them cameras clicking.
A Big thank you to Jonny Bravo for his image of M51 for me to use. I received a lot of great images so thank you all. I'll be compiling them into another video soon! :)

In this video I'm going to take the newly stacked image and turn it into a wonderful end result. The image is stacked from 5 x 10minute exposures using the ZWO ASI 2600mc Pro, an Antlia Duo-Narrowband filter and my StellaMira 90EDT Refracting Telescope.
This isn't a beginner's guide to editing. In this video I'm going to assume that you're at least comfortable with editing images in Photoshop. As such, I don't go as slow as I would if I was teaching new-comers.
If you're new to editing nebulae within Photoshop then you can use the following links to my Photoshop tutorials I have here on YouTube:

Isolated - Abandoned
However in this video I'm going to just compare the Hydrogen-Alpha channels during a Full Moon. The reason why I chose Full Moon is because people often use Hydrogen-Alpha filters during Moon phases in order to cut through the Moon glow.
Bare in mind this is a dedicated Hydrogen-Alpha filter vs a Dual-narrowband filter and NOT a ZWO vs Optolong filter for example.
I'm going to be comparing the Moon glow resistance, contrast as well as signal-to-noise ratio. It's often cited to not use a Hydrogen-Alpha filter with a colour camera.

The colour Moon involves using software such as GIMP to tease detail and colours out of the data captured. Colour Moon editing brings life to an already wonderful Moon photo.
You'll learn how to use curve adjustments, saturation adjustments, how to enhance specific colours as well as two ways to sharpen the image! By the end of it you'll have a colour Moon image you'll be proud of! Be sure to show me your lunar results by tagging me on Instagram and twitter!

The Night Sky is a series of curated Deep Sky Objects, Events, Planets and the Lunar Phases all picked out at a variety of focal lengths based on my latitude in the United Kingdom.
All focal lengths are based off of a full frame Canon 5D and equivalent sizes are given so hopefully you can find what you require for your camera and telescope combination.
I hope you enjoy it anyway and drop any other suggestions in the comments below. Consider subscribing for more content like this.
Clear skies all, keep looking up and keep them cameras clicking.

This tutorial will assume you know nothing about stacking, or how to stack! I'll cover what stacking is, setting up Deep Sky Stacker, light frames, stacking your first proper image, what it looks like in an editor and then building on how to add in calibration frames and what those are exactly.
I hope this video is of use to you and that you come away from it more informed and ready to tackle your astrophotography journey!
PS. Messy hair - don't care!

I previously have used the ZWO ASI Air Pro that I bought earlier in 2020, and the ZWO ASI Air Plus has built on this enjoyable platform already. Including a huge catalogue of Deep Sky Objects, Video modes for Planetary and Lunar Photography and Live Stacking also.
Powering the ZWO ASI Air Plus is simple - any regular astronomy DC out centre-positive power lead will do this. Whilst the ZWO ASI Air Plus can power external devices such as ZWO EAFs and ZWO DSO cameras. You should not power the mount with the ASI Air Plus.
Hope this review is enjoyable and helpful. Clear skies everyone, keep looking up and keep them cameras clicking.

So on the 4th November I grabbed my 80D, 18-55mm kit lens, and a simple tripod and had a walk through the village. This shows the process of capturing, how I worked out exposure length and a timelapse of the editing at the end.
I hope you enjoy it!

The suggestions I give in the video are based from using a full frame camera (such as a Canon 5D). If you're using cameras with much smaller or larger chips then your results will vary. But I give equivalent focal lengths!
If you have any other target ideas, be sure to share them in the comments section and consider subscribing to be alerted of the next time I upload!
Also suggestions are given from my observation site in the Midlands of the United Kingdom. I try to include a variety of focal lengths, but I wouldn't be able to account for every combination of scope and camera out there :(
Clear skies all, keep looking up and keep them cameras clicking.

In this video I'll walk you through my workflow from start to finish in only a few steps. Cleaning a refractor can take but a couple minutes, a large Newt will take longer. This process could also work on the corrective plates for Maks and SCTS. I hate to write this but I can't accept any responsibility for your optic's condition for following this guide.

The suggestions I give in the video are based from using a ZWO ASI 071mc Pro as the camera. This represents an average of DSLR user's 1.6x and 1.5x crop factors.
