Well...am I turning from a minimalist to a maximalist? What is this 365 day eccentric fashion experiment about? Why am I ditching the minimalist lifestyle? Where will I get all my clothes from? What about sustainability? What about taking care of the earth? What has it done to my confidence? Has it made me more uncomfortable or more confident? What are some of my challenges in this fashion experiment?
All of these questions and more I answer in this video here.
To those sad that I am turning to the world of fashion for this year, no need. Well...you're entitled totally to your own opinion, but it's a little experiment that I want to explore and see if I like it.
And mostly, eccentric fashionistas show me a new level of freedom that you can have internally by ditching any concerns about how people might react to your look.
I admire that. I want to explore and see where it takes me. I am by no means even remotely very eccentric yet, but for a girl that is just beginning on her journey and has been a minimalist for at least the last 8 years, it's already pushing my boundaries.
Note: I haven't purchased anything new in 2021. At the end of 2020 I did buy a few things online (sigh). So if someone tries to pull me up on that, that's why. 2021 - nothing new, only second hand.

Hey beautiful human,
Happiness is important. Whatever happiness might mean to you. Contentment, joy, fulfilment. Many different definitions. But when have you ever created a happiness plan for yourself?
I realised I hadn't ever bothered, nor did I ever think to do it. In this video, I'm attempting to create a happiness plan. I've never done this before, so let's call it the first attempt, figuring it out as I go.
I'll update you when I figure out if this is working or not.

Iceland is a volcanic island so volcanic activity is normal, although this area of Iceland hasn't erupted in 800 years. I hope you feel what it feels like to be by the volcano, to get a glimpse of the intense energy and awe that I have felt in the numerous times I have been out at the volcano.
This 2 hour long volcano eruption sound video is made completely by the eruption and was recorded in April 2021 by Francesco Fabris: http://outerfields.net
Drone footage filmed by Leon Hill over a period of a few months to capture the changing landscape of the volcano: instagram.com/leonthealchemist
Many people experience a calming feeling when listening to these sounds. It reminds us of the power of Mother Earth which is chaos and destruction, but also creation, as is the case with the volcano creating new earth.
A magical experience to witness.
Listen with headphones for best sound experience and I recommend increasing the quality of the video to as high as you can to see the crisp visuals.
Enjoy the sounds. And please let me know what you think of it! Thank you for watching/listening to this video.

Here is a montage of my year from the little bits of footage I captured throughout 2021.
It's been a wild journey living full time in Iceland for my second year in a row. I've learned a lot. This country has relaxed me a lot, found me an amazing friendship group whom I love and cherish immensely, I've released a lot of adrenalin and stress out of my body that I've acquired over my whole lifetime of living the hustle and grind.
Thank you Iceland, thank you to my friends and thank you all for watching.

Hey beautiful human,
This ain't a sob story, this was my reality and I find it interesting what I went through so I wanted to share it with you. Last year I went through a Spiritual Awakening, I finally after searching long and hard for answers, I got the insight that's what it was. I watched a YouTube video about this topic and it gave me so much clarity around everything that has been happening to me.
It's really comforting.
Whilst I know these videos lately are oh so very different to what so many of you are used to from me, it's a life journey I'm going through and I have to say, it feels SO right to be sharing this.

Hey beautiful human,
I used to really struggle being a female. I was often confused with this identity, rejecting a lot of this reality. This video is the snippet of my journey of healing my feminine side and falling in love with being a woman.
This journey started for me last year, when my old identity was stripped away from me and this new version started to creep in. I then started learning about the feminine and masculine energies that all of us have within us, irrespective of gender. These universal principles are also known as ying and yang energies.
I really like these concepts and it's allowed me to tap into a different side of myself and now I feel I have access to all aspects of myself. It's very empowering and freeing. For me, it's just a way of knowing myself more.
What do you think of these principles? These energies? Is this something you have encountered on your journey or is it a new concept?

Hey humans, This video is a long one I know, but I go through my thought process of how I'm aiming to get some clarity around my life after I lost my identity last year.
Of course I'm not looking for sympathy, that would be madness amongst all the chaos that happened last year, I am just sharing in on my own journey, and I have a feeling a lot of people also experienced a type of loss of identity last year.
Whether it was losing a job, plans falling through, re-assessing friendships and relationships and moving away from some of the people that didn't align on your new life path...all of these can contribute to a feeling of being overwhelmed and lost.
I'm not claiming to be any expert about what I went through and I'm not giving any professional advise, I'm just one lost soul that is trying to make sense of it all.
So perhaps my sharing of this confusing path might provide you some insights for your own life...or maybe it's just entertaining to watch another human stumble in this game of life :)

Hey friends, It's been almost 18 months being a first time home owner in Iceland with my Australian parter Leon and I'm finally starting to become quite happy with the renovations of areas of the house. Let me show you room by room starting with my very eccentric office.
It was a path that was a little uncomfortable because as a life long renter, I've not have the ability to do whatever I want in a space. And so it took a while to get used to it.
Then I of course messed up the colour choice for the room and that was a major scary set back, but it meant that the mistake turned into one of the best things that could have happened in my room because the white has transformed this space into a very beautiful, delicate and cozy escape.
I am beyond thrilled with the result. Of course calling it the 'world's most beautiful office' leaves me open to much criticism since beauty is obviously subjective, BUT I am biased towards my space and I honestly do thing it's the most beautiful :)
I'm so happy with it, in instantly warms my heart whenever I'm in the room.
I used my office of course for work, such as computer work and filming videos, but I wanted the space to be so much more.
As a recovering workaholic (actually, not exaggerating for funsies), I wanted to make it quite hard for me to spend endless hours working, so I made the office seem very much not like an office.
I included a tiny, highly uncomfortable desk (used to be a sewing machine which is pretty cool. It was $15 and my chair is also super uncomfortable.
I'm sure a lot of people won't be able to relate to needing to stop myself from working, but after a decade of grinding (and I'm honestly glad I did because it was a great foundation for my future), I needed to back off a little and work smarter, rather than harder.
But the addiction was really strong, hence why I needed to do whatever I could to make it harder for myself.
Anywho...I digress.
The items in the office are mostly thrifted and I tried to use a lot of very affordable elements with much impact - including lots of dried roses and flowers, sticks, trees.
I have much fur in my office, all of it second hand, the butterfly in the frame was also a birthday gift.
As I was editing this video I realised how much death surrounds my office - the furs, the flowers, the skeleton, the butterflies. Quite interesting considering the death phobia challenge I've had for over 3 years now (story for another time).
The biggest splurge of the office is my beautiful couch. It was an impulsive purchase and wow...am I glad it worked out in the end.
It turned out to be the perfect colour even though I never thought my room would be white.
It was a dumb purchase but glad it worked out in the end.
The endless instruments in my room bring me immense joy considering for so long I've wanted to learn music. And I am.
There will be an update on all the musical things I'm doing in my life soon. So tune in.
Anyway, thanks for watching this strange Australian that was once a travel YouTuber now set up her life here in Iceland. Different life stage but I'm starting to really thrive in it, even though the choice to step away from travel was obviously not my own.
But we adapt and we learn.
Please subscribe, like and leave a comment. You know how this all works ;)

It's hard to comprehend the changes and how much we're learning about this volcano and what's predicted for it in the future.
Iceland is a volcanic island so volcanic activity is normal, although this volcano hasn't erupted in 800 years. The previous times there have been eruptions in the area, the activity went on for 120 years, 100 years and 300 years. So it looks like we might be in for the long haul.
Our great, great, great grandchildren might be witnessing this eruption one day also. Now that is mind boggling.
Special thank you to the volunteers for doing an exceptional job of ensuring everyone on site is safe. We appreciate your work immensely!
I hope I allowed you to feel what it feels like to be by the volcano, to get a glimpse of the intense energy and awe that I have felt in the numerous times I have been out at the volcano.
People from worldwide have now been flocking to the volcano. Iceland's borders are open under special conditions and everyday there are hundreds of people lucky enough to witness such a phenomenon.
And again, congratulations Peter Mckinnon and Nomatic for the launch of this new everyday backpack!
Please leave some love on the video if you do and make sure to subscribe for more short films from Iceland.

Hello beautiful humans.
Well then...this was an unusual day. At first I didn't realise it was a strange day, just casually minding my own business, and then starring at the volcano, I thought...hmmm...maybe it's not a normal reality.
I wanted to bring you along on my day of exploration in Iceland during winter which gives you a great insight into what makes Iceland PERFECT! But also...the untold side of one of the most difficult aspects of living here.
Thank you immensely for watching. And don't forget to subscribe ♥

Hey humans, Wow. I am so lucky. Fagradalsfjall, a volcano near Iceland's capital of Reykjavik erupted just over a week ago.
We have been on standby for weeks now with up to 40,000 earthquakes happening in the Reykjanes Peninsula in the last 3 weeks. It has been a tense time, with photographers and all locals very excited to capture the beauty, but also not knowing how big the eruption will be.
Iceland is a volcanic island so volcanic activity is normal, although this volcano hasn't erupted in 800 years.
Geologists are still trying to understand how long this eruption will go on for, some say days, some say it could be up to 100 years, this volcano marking the start of an eruption era.
Something that has happened in Iceland before, and maybe something that is happening right now.
Time will tell.
I hope I allowed you to feel what it feels like to be by the volcano, to get a glimpse of the intense energy and awe that I have felt in the numerous times I have been out at the volcano.
Please leave some love on the video if you do and make sure to subscribe for more short films from Iceland.

Hello beautiful humans. My heart feels full presenting you with a video that feels like it's representative of how I'm currently feel, representative of the person I am now. The visuals, the vibe, the flow, the nature, the calm. That's me at this moment and I'm learning to love this phase of life.
It's also an exciting time for me, to return to innocence, or really, return to my passion and just lose myself in the flow of creating short films.
This is how I started on YouTube and I have explored every avenue of creating over the last 4 years. And at no stage was I brave enough to return back to what made my heart flow.
So here is my next shift in creative expression, a shift backwards. And I welcome it with open arms.

I have told the story to my closest friends many times of how I moved to Iceland 5 years ago. It was SUCH a strange story that still makes me speechless because it all just seemed too magical to be a coincidence.
And I realised I had never shared this story with you all.
And so myself and @Frank Frames Things created this epic little piece, together with the support of Storyblocks whom I've partnered up on this video (thank you Storyblocks for sponsoring this video), to help explain the quirky story.
I hope this little strange story shows you the magic of the world and the joys you can experience when you make big, VERY SCARY decisions.
Booking my one way ticket to Iceland was honestly quite petrifying. I cried and cried and cried every night for 2 months before I left, not actually knowing why I would do such a crazy thing when my life seemed so grand in Australia. Logically, my desire to move didn't make sense, although in my heart it totally made sense. It was really the only option.
I guess it goes to show that your heart does know the answers to unlock a truly magical life.
The whirlwind that happened after I moved to Iceland is somewhat like from a fairytale. And it all stemmed from that one tiny decision to move to Iceland without any clue of what I was going to do there.
Diving into the unknown is so uncomfortable, but in my case I can hands down say it was TOTALLY worth it.
I'm the luckiest person in the world...although maybe my luck is simply created because I'm being rewarded for taking those really big chances?
I'm not entirely sure what the answer is, but I am certain I'm the most grateful person for life itself. Always have been, always will be.
I'm having SO much fun experimenting and playing, learning about the styles of clothes I like, what makes me feel confident, where I feel uncomfortable and why. Lots of challenges being faced through all this. FOR SURE feeling uncomfortable at times but just learning to be ok in the discomfort.
Overall I feel incredibly free. Like a little child exploring with no boundaries.
A bunch of you asked to see what clothes I have accumulated in my first 47 days of this experiment, so...I thought I'd do a thrift haul!
As a minimalist for 7+ years, I have never done a thrift haul or a haul of any sorts, but considering 2020 totally changed everyone including myself, fashion has become my joy in this weird moment in time.
And so here is my first ever fashion haul.
Please go easy on me with these hauls and fashion in general. hehe. Totally still learning the art of fashion.
Thank you amazing Eydis for taking these GLORIOUS photos of me! I adore you. Check out Eydis on Instagram: instagram.com/eydismariaolafs
Oh hey friend. You know...mistakes were made. I did a boo boo. 2020 was hectic and things were said that weren't meant to be said.
And so this video explains a little about that and what on earth happened.
Hope you get a bit of a laugh out of this video. Considering I messed my neck up carrying this couch back and forth on my head (which I'm still paying or a week later), I hope you can see it was a genuine mistakes.
I have to say, I didn't realise this was such a common thread for YouTubers. Of course I can see how people think this is a clickbait thing for views. Genuine nah. I'm not interested in that.
I was honestly of the mind that the journey was finished. But 9 months of thinking, and the last 3 months seeing it bubbling up to the surface, I started to have major anxiety over what I shared months ago.
And by having that self reflection time, I realised I needed to change some things. Change my approach to things. Get my friends involved. Take the weight off as a solo member. Honestly finally learn to delegate so I can concentrate on what I do best so I can give my best.
And so a different decision was made which obviously affects the future outcome of the channel moving forward.
As my new videographer and great friend @FrankFrames said - "do, don't tell people what you're going to do". And that's been a huge lesson for me.
In the future, there won't be any mention of things I intend to do...only things I am doing.
So thanks for your patience. Sorry for that lame video I made 8 months ago. That was a stupid mistake.
And I hope you take me back ;)
Many kisses.
Sorelle
PS. This video was filmed near Sólheimajökull, on Iceland's south coast. Extreme care was taken to film in a safe location, away from the glacier itself, with nobody involved in filming ever walking on the frozen lagoon directly in front of the glacier itself. Iceland may be beautiful, but it can also be brutal. You should never take any unnecessary risks in this country.
Ah...it is 12 months since I bought my very first home...in Iceland. So here is a little update on what changes we've made to the home, what it's like living in Iceland, what it's like having a home.
It's a little bit of a longer video today because I really felt like getting detailed about it all, explaining everything.
It's such an exciting journey to be a first time home owner, especially in Iceland, so I'm basking in the glory of it all.
Being a home owner is for sure challenging at times, there's so much to be done around the house, there are so many maintenance tasks that constantly pop up and changes that need to be made. We feel very adult.
But it's very rewarding and we are both eternally grateful.
Owning a home is a dream for so many and especially in one of the most sought after countries in the world, so we do absolutely feel like the luckiest people in the world.
Sincere gratitude to Iceland for letting us live here, my background of being Polish which allows me to live here easily (thanks mum and dad!), Leon for working his tooshie off to secure a rare visa to be able to live here, me for working my tooshie off in business and doing that grind for 10+ years to be able to make this dream come true and all of you, for helping to support this dream. None of it would be possible without you all.
Today is a special video as I was contacted by one of my followers Romano Malecic (@RomanoMalicec) when I was in Arusha, Tanzania.
I had never gone to visit a follower of mine but 2020 feels like it's changed me a lot and I really, really wanted to connect with Romano since his story was so similar to mine, with being the same age when I took a gap year to volunteer in Canada.
I knew how much volunteering changed me and my life trajectory, so I felt this video would be important to film to help inspire those that have not considered volunteering as an opportunity for development of character, as well as doing the important thing of living overseas and learning about other cultures.
Living overseas and working there helps open your eyes up to other cultures and I believe makes us all a lot more understanding of one another, certainly something that we can all use more of in the world.
As I was there, I happened to find out that right at this second Satino School is running a fundraiser to save up funds to build a new school for the children, so they aren't susceptible to horrible landlords that do not care about the cause of the school.
Support however you can. The average donation is $7 and it goes a looooot further than you could imagine. I am donating the profits of this video sponsorship to help support this unreal cause.
Romano used WorkAway to find this volunteer opportunity: workaway.info
Thank you for watching lovely humans!
Love always, Sorelle
PS. Permission was received to film the children at the school.
TANZANIA and Sidai Design Sharing Wisdom For Ways To Rebuild Our New World.
Thank you to Sidai Design and Tanzania for welcoming us with open arms.
2020 fell apart as we know it. We have a chance now, in my optimistic opinion to rebuild the world WE want. The world WE want to live in. And part of that, is what business looks like in the future.
Giving a voice and our cash to organisations that we believe will contribute to the world we want. And Sidai Design is a social enterprise that caught my eye.
I first saw of their work at the beginning of the year, when the wild bushfires of Australia were raging and the skilled Maasai women - the beaders that bless us with their beautiful beading work that can be found at Sidai - were doing a rain dance for Australians. And well, the next day, the rain fell.
Call it coincidence, but who really knows. It worked.
And so when I finally remembered that travel is still possible this year, the first thing I wanted to do was make my way immediately to Tanzania, to see the people of Sidai Design and thank them for what they did.
I also fell in love with their business model and what they stand for. It's the type of business that lights up my heart. I hope you enjoy this video and their story.
None of this video includes paid promotion. All expenses were paid for by me, including the purchases I made of the beautiful pieces of jewellery. I'm spending the money where my mouth is. Helping to foster the beautiful future world I believe in.
If you love Sidai as much as me, please do check out their beautiful work on their website and consider getting a gift for yourself or someone you love: http://sidaidesigns.com
The quality of the work is unbelievable - I can attest to that. I wear multiple of their pieces on the daily.
I'm not sure how this video will be received. I tried to be as delicate as possible with the delivery as I know so many people are hurting this year and it might touch a nerve, BUT...I do have to say I'm obviously not the first person to spot this opportunity, nor am I the one that is giving people 'permission' to live this new way of life. There are thousands of people right now re-thinking their life and their life trajectory, and with so many changes this year, a lot are opting to move out of their small tiny apartments in huge cities and move on to more tropical options or perhaps countries that have the world situation under a little bit more control.
I know it's not for everyone, but for those that can, hooray! And hopefully others can join soon too.
In this video I give you a tiny GLIMPSE into the possibility. It's really a video to just plant the idea in your head. More videos to follow will provide you with more details as to where you can go in todays world. There will be more concrete tips to help you make this jump.
With all that being said, thank you for watching and let me know if you have any further questions about this topic that I might be able to provide more information in future videos.

Today it's a simple sit down video. I really want to let my thoughts flow here and not have the video too structured. I hope you don't mind. I have been thinking a lot this year about what I've done with my life and how I can contribute and I realised I've lived a life so far that most people dream of. Actually, it's even a life I used to dream of.
And so, what are some pieces of advice that helped me greatly with achieving the life of my dreams? Some actual things that you can do with not toooo much difficulty. Things that have changed my world.
I share them in this video. I hope it's helpful!

I hope you find these tips helpful in order to look your best in photographs! This video is 5 years of me learning how to photograph others and myself. I would love to pass on these details to you, because I'm no model and these are tips that are MUST know.
A lot of these tips I provide are technical knowledge you need to be aware of. If you don't know this stuff, you'll forever be fighting an uphill battle - I'm very much referring to tip 7.
The tips are: 1. Practise is your best friend 2. Framing of the image is extremely important otherwise the whole photo will look off 3. Practise your facial expressions also. Leave the no expression look to the professional models. 4. Make micro adjustments in every single photo 5. Take LOTS of photos of yourself using burst mode 6. Practise your facial expressions lots 7. PERSPECTIVE! If you don't know about this, it will CHANGE your life. 8. Tell a story, move away from the camera. 9. Watch you don't over edit 10. Use great light 11. I forget...also, these tips aren't in order. Almost! 12. Engage QUEEN MODE. My weird but effective tip to instantly get sky high confidence.
I hope you find this video helpful. Let me know what other videos you'd love to see from me. If you're still reading this, please comment 'Woooowaaaweeee! My favourite tip is __________' (insert your favourite tip).

Womanhood and fashion (fashun!). Something that has been quite strange for me to indulge in, embrace, lean into. It's my strange journey of allowing myself to break down my annoying boxes I built up that made me believe fashion is vain, shallow and lame.
Apologies if I've ever made anyone feel not as grand because you were interested in looking your best and embracing fashion to celebrate your outer appearance. I truly admire that take.
I think celebrating our shell is a beautiful thing to do and I'm learning to embrace it!
Learning how to dress classy, learning to be ok to say I like shopping, learning to be ok to say I like to look good, learning how to do my makeup better, learning how to do my hair.
It's all a fun journey.
These are the topics covered within the video:
1) The resistance I've had to fashion 2) My take on consumerism and fashion 3) My journey with makeup 4) My journey with hair care and hair styling 5) I take indoor (studio) photography and it somewhat fails 6) I go to the beach and take some pictures there 7) I show you the before and afters of my Advanced Selfies I took this day

Well...it's time to come clean. About my hair colour! And how I do it! ;)
But also, I have thoughts I just want to be heard and understood. Perhaps others feel like this? Perhaps others can relate? Perhaps others see what I see?
I don't mean to be polarising. I just see too much that confuses me right now.
But I am healing too! I started seeing a coach and therapists - I think everyone should invest in their mental health. There's so much stigma around this topic and yet, just like exercise which we know takes care of the body, this takes care of the other important aspect of us.
Please do subscribe, comment and like - the machine loves it, so if you enjoy my work, I would be thrilled if you could give back in this simple way :)
I have been a photographer for 6 years now, but I don't think I've ever done a video dedicated to exactly the journey of how I went from zero and a complete novice to being a highly paid professional photographer. The dream.
I don't think I ever shared this information because I didn't really ever consider myself a professional photographer, even though the concept of being a professional means you get paid for your craft...and well...even though I don't have the normal photography journey or job (more precisely, I take photos of myself mainly), I am indeed paid by being skilled at my camera work.
And so that makes me a professional photographer and I think it's a good reminder that you don't need to follow a specific route within any job and you should look at adventurous ways to end up living from your passion.
Perhaps this video will be an inspiration for you to think of your own life, your own dreams, your own journey and see if there's a way to make your ultimate life happen faster. Looking outside the square is forever my favourite thing to do.
I hope you can allow yourself to dream too.

Here are my pros and cons of living in Iceland, as an Australian living here on and off for the last 5 years.
Wow. I never in my life thought I'd end up in Iceland out of all places, but what an honour to be here. What an honour to experience such a strange place to live. Of course we know about the beauty of this place, but beyond that, what is there?
The energy of this country, the people, the changing seasons, the tourism and lack of infrastructure to support it, the creativity, the weather, the unity of the country and the people in it.
Then there's the downsides which is at times, also the weather, the price, the job market, the prices of living in the capital city of Reykjavik, the lack of fresh food.
But overall, clearly, there's a lot to love about this place and since it's been home for so long, I guess that speaks volumes in itself.
What a wild adventure our Mongolia trip was in October 2019. In this video I go more in depth about how the locals live - from nomadic families, to eagle hunters, to city dwellers.
My favourite part was meeting the Eagle Hunters.
I’d like to introduce you to Zamanbol, one of the 10 Eagle Huntress’ in Mongolia (there are 350 men with eagles) and she instantly became my absolute girl crush. This sweet 15 year old girl flashed me a smile as she walked past in jeans and a t-shirt when I first met her. A few hours later she appeared out of the Ger (Nomadic dwelling) dressed up with a 6kg (13lbs) eagle on her arm. My heart froze. I had no idea we would be one of the lucky ones to meet an Eagle Huntress. ⠀ Zamanbol goes to school in the nearby city during the weekday and on weekends she hangs out with her brothers, cousins, nephews and her eagle. ⠀ Legend has it that 800 years ago when this tradition started, a woman was the first to tame and train an eagle to protect her cattle (read my precious post where I’m holding an eagle to find out more of the story). ⠀ Overtime this information got lost and increasingly it became a male tradition. ⠀ I admire women no matter what we do or don’t do, no questions asked. We are sisters, mothers, bosses, care takers, sensual, strong, vulnerable and everything in between. But when you sprinkle badass dust in the mix, I melt completely. ⠀ And more so, I appreciate deeply fellow humans of all genders that can spot a woman powerhouse when they see one. The act of recognition of greatness in another is an important practice.
It was a joy to hold the eagle as well. A once in a lifetime opportunity. And yes...these birds are extremely heavy.

MYSTERIOUS MONGOLIA - Eagle Hunters, Nomads, Deserts and Extreme 4WD Travel for Adventurous Tourists
We experienced Mongolia with Follow The Tracks - the first self-drive 4x4 trip through Mongolia that takes you and your friends to incredible places, away from the tourist spots - instead immersed deeply in the culture of the country.
During the trip we stayed with the local nomad families, the Eagle Hunting families, we experienced the magical Gobi Desert, White Stupa, Flaming Cliffs and stayed with the camel breading Mongolian families.
I tried to learn as much as possible about the culture and way of life. Like a silent observer of another world, an untapped land - a land yet to be overrun by social media influencers and oversaturated generic Instagram posts.
This is a country like no other, not a trip for the faint hearted but those that want to have a trip that changes them from the inside and provides memories for a lifetime.

Well if your dream is to live off your land fully, be completely self-sufficient and sustainable, ya might as well buy a farm right?
We came across Heydalur (heydalur.is) in the Westfjords of Iceland during our camper van trip around Iceland in May 2020. Blown away by the perfection of the space.
The energy in the converted sheep shed which now is home to apple, cherry, grape trees is incredibly special.
Such a simple set up done, with constant running geothermal water being fed into the pool within the greenhouse. The water is readily available from the depths of the the Earth in Iceland - basically it's volcano heated water since Iceland is one giant volcano. Amazing right?
But there is little maintenance done on this farm (#FarmLife) and a huge amount of food is produced every year. It's heaven on Earth.
And so funny enough when we ran into Heydalur, we had already been thinking of getting a farm (or at least land) to grow an abundance of food. But we really didn't know something like this would be possible. I mean...exotic fruit in Iceland?! YES!
Shortly after our Westfjords trip we found ourselves again in the North of Iceland on a farmland that we were ready to convert into a garden of Eden.
Iceland without tourists. I take the time to explore Iceland during the 2020 world closure due to...well...you know.
I explore the emptiness of this pristine land together with my sexy boyfriendo @LeonTheAlchemist.
We explore the entirety of the #Iceland ring road in a van (#VanLife), including the Westfjords (total cost of fuel was $420 USD). There were lots of natural hotsprings to be found, endless empty roads, the most touristy spots, including Gullfoss, Dettifoss, Dynjandi, Skogafoss, Myvatn, Seljalandsfoss, Jokusarlon glacier and more, all empty.
Enjoy and please drop in a comment as it helps with the algorithm :)
My aim since I was young to become as detached from a system that I saw as faulty. That is why I went on the journey to become detached financially and now that I have a home in Iceland, the aim is to get it off the grid and as sustainable as possible. If this can be done in Iceland, hopefully it serves as inspiration that if it can be done in such a harsh climate, it can be done almost anywhere else in the world.
This video shows the start of our journey to make our home self-sufficient, sustainable and off-grid.
Please let me know any further recommendations you might have for us to make it better! Always looking for suggestions.
PS. I also announce the winners of the Advanced Selfie Challenge at the end of this video. WOW! So many entries.
BE THE FIRST to find out about the PUBLIC FIGURE BOOTCAMP (enrolment to course now closed)
I'm currently in Isafjodur in the Westfjords in Iceland, exploring for 2 weeks in a camper with my man Leon.
So...decided it's time to address the big questions I often get: - Did I inherit the money? - Do my parent pay for it all? - Am i relying on a rich boyfriend?
Or did I create this life all by myself?
I get asked this question very often, how I afford the life I have. I’m blessed to buy a home in Iceland almost outright recently for my 31st bday, I reached a really dope financial goal in Jan, I was an avid traveler until I got quite tired of it and then also realized how bad that is for the world - best of all, I don’t work for anyone, my time is mine and I’m a free woman.
It seems to be a really hard pill for some people to swallow that I did essentially create this life for myself, all by myself - especially as a woman ;)
How do I do it?
1. Sell own products Benefit: make money whilst I sleep Results compound upon themselves - eg. One YouTube video keeps selling my work as the video grows instead of a sponsorship message for someone else I’m fully in control of the marketing
What I sell: - My courses: ADVANCED SELFIE UNIVERSITY: bit.ly/2BJ4V4B GROW YOUR INSTAGRAM LIKE ME (enrolment now closed)
- My presets - new ones launched now called 'I'm Famous'. Check them out here: sorelleamore.com/shop
2. Brand deals - since I’m not dependent on others, I choose only deals I fully believe in - like Skillshare who is sponsoring this video
1. YouTube ad revenue - VERY small portion of what I make. Niche isn’t hyper profitable so I don't focus on this income stream.
Multiple streams of revenue are the goal. Make money whilst you sleep and don’t rely on one source.
What I did to get here: Marketing skills - super important - I think my greatest weapon is understanding marketing. Skillshare is dope and you can get two months of Skillshare for free: https://skl.sh/sorelleamore10
The rest of the wisdom about how I grew my wallet is in the video, so keep watching until the end for some golden nuggets of wisdom :)
Like and subscribe, if you got value, drop a comment as it helps the algorithm immensely.
Hey hey! Finally joining the #VanLife crew and learning what this world is all about and seeing what people's obsessions are. Is Van Life all that it's cracked up to be? What's it like being a solo female van lifer? Let's see!
Well this is a big, big deal for me. REALLY big deal for me. A girl that traveled for 3 years non-stop out of a backpack and then tried to settle but ended up moving to 3 different countries in such a short period. Great work Sorelle :)
From living in Sydney, Australia, then a few months months later moving to Los Angeles, California, then accidentally moving to ICELAND a few months later. This video explains how I ended up a home owner in one of the furthest locations in the world away from my country of citizenship - Australia.
They call El Salvador one of the best hidden gems for surfing. I decided to go there...naturally...and test it out for myself. Without any prior experience in surfing, but holding onto this dream for more than half my life (I wanted to learn to surf since I was 12), I decided I already gave enough excuses, so I might as well just try. And so...I learned to surf in 14 days in El Salvador with the assistance of some INCREDIBLE humans. Or did I?
Absolutely this journey would not have been possible without the people dedicated to their craft and to teaching newbies like me. Extremely grateful for the guidance and mentorship of these talented people.
And so...here is the result of that. The ups, the down, the frustrations, the injuries, the failures, the successes. A truly fruitful journey. Was I able to accomplish the task at hand? Keep watching to find out!
This video is particularly important to me because obviously this is a dream, secondly it’s showcasing one of my favourite countries in the world, I realised this is EXACTLY the kind of content I want to create and also incorporating having a team. I've wanted to get videographers and editors for 2 years now to assist in the workload, and this video is the result of that. Beginning of an amazing new team!

Let me know what you'd like me to try next! Sorelle x
I really was afraid to upload this video and it's taken the internet 3 days to actually upload. I was hoping it wouldn't but when I watch it now that it's up, I realise it's a pretty important personal and vulnerable story I need to share.
