The Requiem in D minor, K. 626 is one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's (1756–1791) most iconic works. Composed in Vienna in late 1791, it remained unfinished at the time of his death on December 5th of the same year. The version heard today was completed in 1792 by Franz Xaver Süssmayr and delivered to Count Franz von Walsegg, who commissioned the piece in memory of his wife Anna. This performance highlights the emotional depth of Lacrimosa through a piano arrangement.
