Description:
Today I’m testing the DC fast-charging performance of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Long Wheelbase with the 86 kWh battery.
I compare its charging curve, charging time, added energy, and real highway range directly to:
Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S (same battery & chemistry)
Kia EV9 (800-V system, 96 kWh)
Volvo EX90 (107 kWh, older 400-V version)
All cars were evaluated based on:
⚡ Charging power (10–80%)
🔋 kWh added over time
🛣️ Real range added at 130 km/h
The result is clear:
The ID. Buzz has a very good charging curve for a 400-V system, but its high consumption kills range efficiency, especially compared to the EV9 and EX90.
