The medical doctor who treated the alleged gunman in the attempted murder case against Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala and four others, claims that police assaulted and suffocated the suspect during his 2024 arrest.
Dr Pooja Panicker has testified in a trial-within-a-trial in the High Court in Johannesburg, where Musa Kekana is fighting to have evidence obtained by police during his arrest made inadmissible.
Kekana, Matlala, Nthabiseng Nzama, Tsakani Matlala, and Tiego Mabusela, are on trial for the attempted murder of Matlala's former partner, Tebogo Thobejane, businessman, Joe Sibanyoni, and music producer, Seunkie Mokubung.
