ANYWAYS, Pokémon SoulSilver was the first Pokémon game I ever played on my white Nintendo DSi. I got it for my birthday back in 2014 and chose Cyndaquil as my starter! And naturally, my rival ended up with Totodile. So drawing Feraligatr Vs Typhlosion in the artwork just felt so right to me. I also decided to draw the battle right before you leave victory road, what an awesome battle that was.
I’ve always been a fan of the rivalry between Typhlosion and Feraligatr, and another reason why is because my cousin chose Feraligatr as his starter. So whenever we would battle, his dang blue gator would thrash my fire badger because of the bad type matchup. My stubborn self always tried to have my Typhlosion go head to head with his Feraligatr. I miss those times and HGSS are such incredible games. I really should go back and play them again.
This song is amazing though. The Rival themes usually always slap. I wanted to stay true to the original, I kept going back and referencing it to make sure it sounded as accurate as possible. I usually try and remaster songs in a way that they enhance what the original song was going for, but in some cases like this, I feel it’s better to stay true to the source material! But, of course, I did add a few changes here and there to give it some flare 😈 I’d say the most fun part of making this remaster was making that entire beginning section right before the chorus hits. It’s so unique and has SOOO many weird things going on, from synths, strings, percussion. It’s just all over but it works so well. And if I had to say my least favorite part, proooobably getting the drums to sound right. There are so many different drum sounds and it’s hard to keep track of them 😅 Anyways guys, that’s about all I’ll say for this video. I hope you all enjoy and have a wonderful day 😎💜
