I wasn't planning to release a single so early, but I saw the date and I couldn't pass up this opportunity. I wanted to do this because of the song that this track samples.

This track samples Aphex Twin’s “Avril 14th”, which is my favorite piano composition to date. Of course, inspiration was also taken from the works of The Caretaker, who has many works exploring the concept of dementia and Alzheimer’s. His works are made by re-contextualizing old ballroom tunes from the early 1900’s to sound very bleak and desolate. The concept centers around a person with dementia who listened to those songs in their glory days, recollecting those memories in their final days.

I’d like to think if those albums were made about me in the future, when I get old and start to wither away, that this would be a track on here.

The drums were taken from the isolated drum track from glass beach’s “classic j dies and goes to hell, part 1”, but slowed down significantly.
