Voyage III – Kyoto is our signature song. An anthem dedicated to the city of Kyoto. It was first released on our debut album back in 2006. Since then, we’ve performed it at every one of our shows.
When we finally arrived in Kyoto, we knew we had to play this piece in a place that truly captured the spirit of the city. One afternoon, while walking along the iconic Kamo River with our friend Masafumi Komatsu—who had guided us through a beautiful sound exploration of Kyoto—he led us to a spot where the river branches out and forms a small patch of land in the middle of the stream. Standing there, with the water flowing on both sides, we instantly felt it was the perfect place for our musical tribute.
We had the place. We had the song. All we needed was a beautiful sunset… and Kyoto gifted us one.
After twenty years of making music inspired by Japan, this moment felt like the perfect way to close a circle and celebrate the passion that has guided us all along.
