Votes close on January 23, no playlist as a source this time, which will be addressed in the news below.
So, you may have noticed that this channel has been on the decline for a while now. Honestly, it peaked around 2013 or 2014, and I've kept it alive mostly out of tradition and necessity. However, it's becoming clear that the current path is unsustainable and thus I'm planning to phase the channel out after this month's votes. Two major factors are at play:
-Turnout has reached dirt levels: It's become all too common in recent months for the top song to get less than 20 votes, sometimes even less than a dozen. While this did owe in part to the lack of videos in the past few months to keep people engaged with the channel, it's not that far of an anomaly from the usual numbers to seem nonindicative.
-Resources are disappearing: one of the most important assets when preparing for voting was to have a massive playlist of a wide swath of songs released in the month so as to lower the chances of echo-chambering and favoritism in the results. Multiple people have done it over the years, but in the past few months there's been no one who's stepped up to the plate sufficiently.
Votes are already no longer a metric reported to the Equestrian Trot 100, so I was prepping up in case this decision had to be made, and it appears it will indeed go that way. I am thankful for the opportunity given to me by PaleoSteno in letting me run the channel for all these years and for all the viewers who took the time to cast a ballot or even just watch the videos. For the record, this certainly isn't signifying a death of the brony music scene, just a more standard equilibrium where most consumers know what they like and don't have much of a need for a channel like this.

P.S. Now that I'm back from vacation and some personal issues, I may still give October to now their own videos in hindsight, but I make no promises.
