I’ve been nominated for YouTuber of the Year in a long-running, decade-old community tradition focused on smaller YouTube channels with a retro flavour. Earlier this year we won YouTuber of the Month, and now all the monthly winners go head-to-head for the big one – YouTuber of the Year on the Upper Nimbus channel.
It’s not just about winning a title.
If I win, I’ll also carry the baton as host for the next 12 months – showcasing other creators, pushing the retro and gaming community, and trying to make this thing even bigger and better. I’m fully committed to putting in the work, even if it means dialing back some of my own challenge content next year to give this the focus it deserves.
Over the last year we’ve:
🎮 Smashed retro gaming challenges (Shan & Raza Cup, one-life clears, clutch runs)
🎮 Dived deep into Street Fighter 6, grinding ranked as a casual gaming dad
🎮 Started regular live streams and built an amazing, positive chat community
🎮 Hit YouTube monetization as a small gaming channel
🎮 Met incredible people in the retro and modern gaming scenes
The support, coaching and encouragement from you lot – from master rank SF6 players dropping tips in chat, to people pushing me to “not end on a loss” when I’m shattered after night shifts – has been unreal. You’ve helped shape this channel into what it is.
As we head into the end of 2025, I just want to say thank you:
