A short tour of the NUA Immersive Visualisation and Simulation Laboratory - a state-of-the-art Arts research facility in Norwich, UK.

Laboratories are normally associated with the scientific subjects, but this facility is owned by Norwich University of the Arts, and contains cutting-edge tech used in art projects. There's a huge 360° LED display used to create and exhibit large-scale interactive, immersive video pieces, but I came to try out the volumetric capture system.
It's like traditional green screen to the max.... an array of cameras is used to reconstruct a volumetric 3D mesh and texture, to create a 3D model which can be animated in VR, AR, or MR applications.
