Fly with Magnar | Voepass Flight 2283 Animation Explained by ATR Instructor @FlywithMagnar | Uploaded September 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
CENIPA has released an animation showing the moments the aircraft lost control and entered a flat spin. In this video, an experienced ATR 72 instructor explains what happened.

The preliminary report after the accident with Voepass flight 2283 has been released together with an animation showing what caused the aircraft to enter a flat spin. The preliminary report reveals that the aircraft was dispatched into forecasted severe icing, a condition outside the certification of the aircraft. Early in the flight, a critical ice protection system failed. And when the Aircraft Performance Monitoring (APM) system triggered warnings about loss of performance, the crew did not act. Finally, the aircraft had lost so much speed that the stall alert was triggered. The crew did not apply the correct procedure to recover, and they lost control.
