Here's a little technique I used to create a bass that grooves naturally to a drum part!
When writing 'Go', I really wanted to have a bass line go with that tribal drum feel I had going first, but nothing seemed to work well when I was just inputing MIDI notes into the bass, even when in sync with the hits etc..
The solution was unexpected - to use a Vocoder effect, just to get the groove essence out of the drums, but then attach the notes of the bass to it - the best of both worlds ๐ค
Have you ever used a vocoder in a none-traditional way? Would love to get some more ideas ๐ฅ
