Shizuka and I were invited by the port town of Manazuru (真鶴: True Crane) to check out some of their local activities: Fishing, making Himono (dried fish), and being energized by NATURE. The local government of Manazuru wants to make the place a bigger hotspot for inbound tourists (living in surrounding areas like Tokyo), and to get people excited about the peaceful environment you can get from this local getaway.
Manazuru is a town located on a small peninsula on Sagami Bay in the southwest of Kanagawa Prefecture. Known for having a distinctive shape resembling a crane with open wings, Manazuru is a popular spot for water sports including fishing and diving. The area also has spectacular views of the bay thanks to the surrounding virgin forest.
