One of my favorite things to do in the whole world is to write and sing harmonies. As I was writing the lyrics for this song, I couldnt decide on a lead vocal melody. For this song, the vocal felt like it should be used as an instrument, accentuating the entire chord and the vocal should be the star of the show doing double duty!
For production on this one, I wanted to combine my signature synthwave and retrowave with organic sounds. I started with a heavy driving gated bass synth combined with piano and orchestral elements. I have been playing violin since I was 7 years old and piano since I was about 2 years old. It was so fun incorporating the 80s style I love with organic instruments that I hold so close to my heart.
This song was inspired by a dear friend of mine named Molly. Shes been integral in the EDM scene for over a decade and I am fortunate to call her a true friend. The idea for this song came from just a few of the awakening moments that Molly and I have shared together in NY and LA. From raves, to Griffith Park, from our love of David Bowie, to spending full moon eclipses together at CoSM and meeting Alex Grey, its always an adventure! I hope that you all enjoy this song as its very special to me!

I wanted to incorporate the sounds of NYC in this song as it plays such a huge role in this song. Accompanied by powerful drums and searing synths, I hope that Ive made a synthwave anthem youll be singing for a long time.
The Arsonist is a toxic love triangle between NYC, an ex, and a broke Artist at the end of their rope facing eviction and living out of their car. Despite all of the odds being stacked against them, they continue trying to make it work.
