Come and join over two hundred young researchers from over 50 countries around the world as they come together at the 12th Heidelberg Laureate Forum! They are looking forward to a week of interaction with their "intellectual superheroes" – the winners of some of the most prestigious prizes in mathematics and computer science at the 12th Heidelberg Laureate Forum!
In this first episode of the Vlog@HLF25 we meet some of the new, and returning members of the HLF community. Young researchers are arriving for the first time and alumni are returning with experience and good advice. We also speak to the mathematician Pierre Berger about his exhibition Wild Dynamics that lets anyone experience what it feels like to be a mathematician exploring mathematical research. And we ask science journalists Engela Duvenage and Andrei Mihai about the unique community that the HLF has helped create.
The Vlog is presented by Marianne Freiberger and Rachel Thomas, editors of plus.maths.org. They'll guide you through this exciting week, talking to participants and giving you glimpses behind the scenes.
The 12th Heidelberg Laureate Forum took place from September 14–19, 2025. #HLF25
The Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF) is an annual networking conference where 200 carefully selected young researchers in mathematics and computer science spend a week interacting with the laureates of the most prestigious awards in their disciplines: the Abel Prize, ACM A.M. Turing Award, ACM Prize in Computing, Fields Medal, IMU Abacus Medal and Nevanlinna Prize.
