Today we’re really pleased to talk to Donna Strickland, 2018 Nobel Prize in Physics, and to Patrick M. Hanrahan, a 2019 ACM A.M. Turing Award recipient who also has won three academy awards! We also get a chance to visit infinity and talk to young researcher Ana-Andreea Stoica.

This year young researchers are joining the #HLF21 from their homes around the world. Marianne Freiberger and Rachel Thomas, editors of www.plus.maths.org, will be their eyes and ears on the ground in Heidelberg in the daily HLF vlog.

The HLF is an international networking event where 200 outstanding young researchers of mathematics and computer science interact with recipients of the disciplines’ most prestigious awards.
