This weekend I was faced with a nice challenge that really put my teammate and myself on edge and brought out the best of our abilities (and a whole bunch of sweat). It was a cool experience and it made me think that I kind of find similar experience in games. Where you're faced with difficult challenges to overcome and how these peaks can really put you in 'the zone' and how amazing it feels when you pull through.
Difficulty is a very subjective notion however and in video games we have many different ways to play with difficulty to cater to as many player's needs as possible. What do you think are the best ways to do this? What makes a hard mode hard and potentially more fun than its easier options? What are fair ways to make a game harder and which measures are just plain annoying? I give some of my thoughts, but I'm also interested in hearing yours!
During my Vlog Thingies I just talk about whatever has come up recently. This can either be in the gaming industry, YouTube or my life in general. It's just a way to genuinely and unscripted share with everyone what's going on for me.
