Here's part two of my Reading Rush vlog! How did I do? Click play to find out...
I had a lot of fun with this one and it's the first time I've participated, and I'm super proud of how I did. I'm slowly becoming the avid and erratic reader that I used to be and I AM LOVING IT!
(At the end of the video I express my thoughts on the issues surrounding the Reading Rush hosts and the way they have behaved towards a book written by a black author, and how it has upset people, understadably so. I will say this now, I don't support the way they have behaved, and as someone who has been actively
working to try and change the way I behave and educate myself on black issues over the past few months, this has saddened me greatly and I don't know if I will be participating next year. I'm hoping that next year, the Reading Rush will be more diverse, inclusive and educational on important matters that affect many
people around the world, and I am hoping that I, too, will have taken the time to read more books by BAME authors, LGBTQ authors and disabled authors. If I have ever offended anyone, been insensitive towards anyone, or inappropriate, please do not hesitate to tell me. I don't want to be any of those things and I
want to be able to learn from my mistakes and become a better ally.)
