My cross-country camping adventure is going really well thus far. I checked out the birdhouse dinosaur forest, the world's tallest filling cabinet and of course the Ben & Jerry's factory.
First night in Vermont I boondocked on state forest land. It had the advantage of being free and the disadvantage of no cell signal. It was a nice night in REAL woods. But since I am both working and working on my masters I needed a cell signal. Decamped to the beautiful Allis State Park. I was very lucky, as it was a Friday and every campground was fully booked everywhere. Allis SP had ONE spot left so I jumped on it.
I'm off to North Eastern Vermont now, and New Hampshire after that. Unfortunately the week ahead has some crummy weather coming so we will see how well I can conserve electricity. I will be counting every watt until I can recharge my solar batteries. That, or I will just have to drive around Vermont for hours charging them off my car's alternator.
