To mark its tenth anniversary, VivaTech chose to celebrate far beyond the walls of its traditional venue by bringing innovation directly into the heart of Paris. Three days before the official opening of the show at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Europe’s largest event dedicated to startups, technology, and innovation transformed the Champs-Élysées into a spectacular open-air exhibition accessible free of charge to the public. Organized in partnership with the Champs-Élysées Committee, the initiative allowed Parisians, tourists, families, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts to experience firsthand many of the innovations that will shape tomorrow’s world.

The opening ceremony reflected the importance that VivaTech has acquired within the European innovation landscape over the past decade. Among the speakers were Marc-Antoine Jamet, President of the Comité Champs-Élysées, Maurice Lévy, co-shareholder of VivaTech through Elvyr alongside Les Échos Group, Michèle Benbunan, CEO of LVMH’s Media Division, Richard Bouigue, Deputy Mayor of Paris, Anne Le Hénanff, Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, and Catherine Lécuyer, Mayor of Paris’s 8th arrondissement. Their participation highlighted VivaTech’s ability to unite public institutions, major corporations, investors, entrepreneurs, and citizens around a shared vision of innovation.

One of the most striking elements of the event was the installation of eight monumental letters spelling “VIVATECH,” each transformed into an immersive pavilion dedicated to a specific theme including City & Mobility, Impact & Planet, Health & Well-being, Robots & Space, Artificial Intelligence, Jobs & Training, Agora, and Culture, Sports & Entertainment. Rather than presenting technology through traditional displays, visitors were encouraged to interact directly with innovations through demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on experiences.

The City & Mobility zone showcased technologies designed to improve urban life and sustainability. Vusion demonstrated its VusionLive for Fresh solution, combining artificial intelligence, sensors, and image analysis to optimize retail operations and reduce food waste. Urban Cuisine presented indoor farming systems capable of producing fresh vegetables in compact urban spaces, while SQ Motors unveiled the Sternboard, an all-terrain electric skateboard. Roofscapes highlighted the potential of transforming Parisian rooftops into green spaces that improve biodiversity and thermal comfort, while BNP Paribas introduced Wero, a European instant payment platform designed to simplify daily transactions.

Environmental innovation occupied a central place within the Impact & Planet area. Visitors could experience climate change scenarios through an immersive virtual reality installation created by La Poste Group, while Agua de Sol showcased its SunAir Fountain, capable of generating drinking water using solar energy. One of the most ambitious projects on display was Climate Impulse, led by Bertrand Piccard and Raphaël Dinelli, which aims to complete the first non-stop round-the-world flight powered exclusively by green hydrogen by 2029.

Health and wellness technologies also attracted strong interest. EveryHuman demonstrated its Algorithmic Perfumery platform, enabling visitors to create personalized fragrances through artificial intelligence and robotics. HABS presented Neuro-AI technology developed with NRJ, capable of measuring emotional reactions in real time, while Rokid showcased smart glasses offering instant translation across multiple languages. Companies including Wandercraft, Lili For Life, Lattice Medical, and Xpanceo further illustrated the rapid growth of European health-tech innovation.

The Robots & Space section proved particularly popular thanks to its humanoid robots, exoskeletons, companion robots, and advanced aerospace technologies. Companies such as Blue Frog Robotics, Unitree Robotics, Agibot, German Bionic, Exotrail, and Sirius Space offered visitors a glimpse into a future where autonomous systems and robotics will play an increasingly important role in daily life. Elsewhere along the avenue, visitors discovered Zephalto’s stratospheric tourism capsule, solar-powered vehicles from Lightyear, autonomous mobility concepts from Next Modular Vehicles, advanced drones, and aerial transportation solutions developed by CycloTech.

The festive atmosphere was reinforced by a full program of robot performances, artificial intelligence demonstrations, expert talks, and interactive activities. A Prompt Party organized with Le Wagon introduced visitors to prompt engineering and generative AI, while Mukiz hosted an engaging musical blind test. The day was presented by well-known technology personalities including PP Garcia, Kayane, and Guillaume Cérin, whose enthusiasm helped make complex technological subjects accessible to a broad audience.
