Vivaldi composed Spring in 1723 as part of his celebrated set of four violin concertos known as The Four Seasons. This concerto, the Violin Concerto in E major, RV 269, is one of the most beloved and colorful works of the early Baroque era, full of vivid musical storytelling. Vivaldi paired the piece with a set of poems, likely written by himself, that guide the listener through nature's rebirth across three lively movements. The opening Allegro bursts with energy, its bright melodies and trilling violin lines suggesting birdsong and the cheerful arrival of warmer days. The Largo that follows slows everything down, letting a tender, singing violin line drift over gentle, sustained strings, painting a peaceful picture of a shepherd resting in the countryside. Orquesta Reino de Aragón
ORA is a leading private ensemble founded in 2011 by Aragonese musician Sergio Guarné. It has performed over 200 concerts in eight countries and has surpassed the 200,000-attendance mark, earning critical acclaim from both the public and the press. Since the 2013/2014 season, its principal conductor has been maestro Ricardo Casero, and since 2017, it has been a resident ensemble at the Zaragoza Auditorium.
