The digital video from the Denver band Los Mocochetes titled “Viva La Revolución” is a commemorative documentary for the March 19, 1969 Denver West High School walkouts. The walkouts included a group of 150 West High School students in response to racist remarks made toward students of Mexican decent. The video provides a background in white text in the first minute of the video over footage of the walkout. 50 years after the walkouts in 2019, the community gathered at the front steps of West High School to honor those students from 1969. The video combines footage from local news of the 1969 walkout with 2019 footage of the commemoration at the high school. In the 2019 footage the community is seen acting out some of the 1969 footage and carrying protest signs, Mexican flags, and having traditional dancers.
