Vitamin C does not cure the common cold, but taking at least 1 gram daily starting as soon as you realize you’re getting sick can shorten the duration of cold symptoms by 15% and decrease the severity of symptoms for really bad colds. It’s not nothing, but it’s also not a huge effect. OC: @NewScientist
