Please follow David Many’s please instructions below and reach out to Sony. The more people that do this, the higher the likelihood they fix the issues. Thanks to David for the detailed instructions.
As you know a lot of frustrating issues have appeared recently on PS Vita, from the more serious ones like the Soul Sacrifice and Freedom Wars servers not working and not being able to redownload PS Plus games to the less serious ones like some broken images in the PS Store, some players not being able to access the PS Store, some background images missing and PS Vita systems deactivating themselves.
Because of this I think we should unite as a community and contact Playstation support to make them aware of these issues and put pressure for these issues to be resolved as soon as possible.
Each consumer will need to contact Playstation Support on the region of their account.
For those who don't know, all the options for contacting Playstation Support are at the end of the Terms and Conditions in your region.
As an example I will leave the US and UK contact information here:
PSN Terms of Service | PlayStation US: playstation.com/en-us/legal/terms-of-use-october-2020
PSN Terms of Service | PlayStation UK: playstation.com/en-gb/legal/psn-terms-of-service
Usually, agents ask you to do troubleshooting steps, as this is the way that they can identify if the problem is on the Sony side or on the consumer side.
If you do the troubleshooting steps and are still having the same issues, it's because it's an issue on Sony's side.
The objective of contacting Playstation Support is to make the support agents escalate the issues, so they can be investigated by the technical teams at Sony.
The problem is that support agents don't understand almost anything about gaming or playstation, they are just people reading scripts to give answers to the most common problems. To give you an idea, once when I contacted the support about a problem with LittleBigPlanet 2, they told me that LittleBigPlanet 2 servers had shut down in 2018 which is not true at all.
Some nonsense that some agents might say when contacted about these issues can be: "The PS Vita system is no longer supported, so we can't help you with these issues", "Soul Sacrifice and Freedom Wars are no longer supported", "The online servers for these games have been terminated"...
If they say these things or other nonsense, don't believe it, it's just nonsense.
The truth is that under Sony's Terms and Conditions, Sony is obligated to give advance notice before disabling any online service.
So we should consider these problems as temporary server errors that Sony is obligated to fix.
This initiative must be taken by the community, just 1 or 2 players contacting Support will not do much good.
It will be necessary to persist and be lucky for the greatest number of support agents to identify that these problems are on Sony's side and escalate them to be investigated.
