As I'm in the UK for a while and visiting friends in Yorkshire so I went along to Whitby folk festival to meet up with Phee Harrison who set up my new purchase, a Mittenwald violin. He did a great job and now it plays better, sounds better.
The string height is now 5mm (G) 3mm (E) - it was super-high when I bought it!
The last time I was at the festival was 1975 so things have changed a bit but Whitby is still a charming and interesting sea-side town, dating back to the 7th century.
Making videos is a bit tricky where I'm staying now but hope to get back to regular production soon.
