Hi, Friends!I know my upload schedule has been a little off these last few weeks but I appreciate you sticking with me! I'm in a major transition in my life and work and it's been a busy summer, I hope you understand. Change is exciting but navigating it can be time-consuming. Last weekend my little sister turned 25 and invited us to tag along on her birthday adventure. We visited the charming Downtown Ventura and one of my favorite bulk locations, The Refill Shoppe! I didn't film too much in there because it was pretty crowded (which is a good thing!) As you can see I was way over zealous with my glass containers but I wanted to be prepared! ;) Since I haven't had luck with other zero waste soaps for the dishwasher (the powder soaps don't ever seem to dissolve in our machine) I went for the dishwashing soap they offered. I've seen on Instagram (and from being tagged by several of you!) that you can now buy from them through their website. I was really interested to see how they shipped their products in a sustainable way, the reusable envelope system they have is really cool! They have different sizes you can order (I believe the one I showed is a smaller size) and it can be sent in the mail with no additional packaging. When you're done, just send it back to them, they'll disinfect and reuse.
We browsed thrift shops, the Calico Cat Book Store, had Ben & Jerry's vegan ice cream and walked on the pier.
*Meow Meow Tweet send me their deodorant to try (with no promise of sharing it in a video). I really like the underarm primer, it helps the deodorant really sink into the skin. The deodorant itself is not an antiperspirant but it's very effective at eliminating odor.
Sunday was my very first local essential oil class! In this video, I share my favorite recipe we made, the Beach Waves Salt Spray. If you remake this with the same aloe that I used, add a few drops of vitamin e to preserve it. I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my class, I'm so happy that Nick was able to help me film it! :)
Beach Waves Spray
Combine 1 cup warm water, 1 tbsp sea salt, 1 tsp Epsom salt, 1 tbsp fractionated coconut oil, 1 tbsp aloe vera gel, and 5-10 drops of essential oil. Add a few drops of vitamin e oil as a preservative.
Rosemary, lavender, clary sage, roman chamomile, cedarwood, and peppermint are great essential oils for hair growth.

I’ve been making videos on this channel since June 2014, but I’ve been watching youtube videos for much longer ;). Before starting this channel as my creative outlet, I was in a major rut and thought the challenge of making a video every week would help. I'm happy to report that it did!
