The Batak Tribe populates the remote mountain jungles of Palawan. They are the original natives of this area. The Batak still make their living by hunting and gathering but also grow rice crops and trade natural products with lowlanders such as Rattan and Almaciga resin. Their culture is almost vanished due to the declining population.
