Doyle and I took a drive to the valley today and I had the absolute pleasure of visiting TapRoot for the first time!
All I can say is WOW! This is an incredible little shop that specializes in providing a true sheep-to-skein yarn experience 🐑🧶
The lovely folks at TapRoot shear the fleece from the sheep on their farm, wash and card the wool, then spin it into yarn all right here!
They also have a cute little storefront where they sell the yarn, which is available in a variety of bases, including some skeins that are a blend of their wool and Canadian Rambouillet. Although I didn’t see any there today, TapRoot also specializes in growing and spinning organic Nova Scotia flax into yarn 🌾🧶
My favourite thing that they sell is a yarn bundle of yarn all spun from the fleece of single sheep. I bought myself yarn spun from Ginger’s fleece, and I can’t wait to turn her beautiful wool into something cozy!
