Neuschwanstein is one of Germany's (and the world's) most visited "landmarks". Many people credit Disney for making it extremely popular but we won't argue about that :) In my opinion it is worth a visit if you are in Bayern but there are other castles/palaces that are worth a visit in Bayern (or Germany) as well. I would highly recommend checking out Linderhof if you are wanting a nice interior tour (Neuschwanstein is not the best but it is an interesting experience).
