While on tour in Pittsburgh, Nick made a pilgrimage to Buffalo Bill’s house from The Silence of the Lambs. It’s now a bookable Airbnb and full-on tourist attraction run by Chris Rowan, an art director for film and TV who bought the place when it hit the market in 2021. After a year of meticulous renovations, including constructing the infamous basement pit with help from Tom Savini and his crew, Chris opened it up for overnight stays and guided tours. The result is a love letter not just to the movie, but to a very specific kind of beautiful brain: vintage arcade cabinets, wrestling VHS tapes, and deeply committed movie nerdery. You can even buy custom “Skin Suit Soft” lotion in the gift shop. We are forever impressed by weirdos who fully commit to their vision. Kudos to Chris for truly putting the lotion in the basket on this one.
