We went into The END of OAK STREET hoping for a stupid dinosaur movie.
We did NOT expect one of the most fun movies we’ve seen all year.
Tonight we’re going FULL SPOILERS on The END of OAK STREET, breaking down the story, the characters, the dinosaurs, the 1980s setting, that insane premise, and most importantly, why this movie works so incredibly well.
A whole suburban neighborhood gets ripped out of the 1980s and dropped into the Jurassic era, forcing the families of Oak Street to survive a world they were never meant to see.
But underneath the dinosaurs and chaos is a surprisingly thoughtful story about family, marriage, love, sacrifice, growing up, and realizing what actually matters when everything else is stripped away.
And yes...
We’re also talking about the people screaming that The END of OAK STREET is “woke.”
Because after actually watching the movie and understanding what the story is trying to say, we have some thoughts about that.
