Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, as it became clear that spring graduation ceremonies would not take place in person, a group of faculty, staff, students and alumni from Washington University’s Department of Music in Arts & Sciences leaped into action to remotely perform and record a version of the WashU Alma Mater. In all, twelve different singers recorded 25 sound tracks, which were then mixed and arranged to form the final recording — a gift from the music department to #WashU20 - and a celebration of #WashUtogether.
