Since Skye is serving a two year mission, I wanted to do something special for his birthday; He loves cheesecake, so I thought it would be fun to get a cheesecake in his honor & to sing Happy Birthday to him & to record it. I also wanted Skye to be in the video somehow, so I decided to put on a suit & pretend to be Skye's hands. [Fun fact, Skye & myself (Skye's mOm) have identical hands]. I sent Skye this video this morning to start off his birthday right, and have coordinated it, so that he will be able to have cheesecake there also. [So we will indeed be enjoying his birthday dessert together!] Skye is enjoying his mission & is an amazing missionary, as you can well imagine. He brings so much joy wherever he goes & brings God's love to everyone. Please enjoy a glimpse into some of our birthday traditions: We usually celebrate more than just one day, to allow for more birthday joy: One day will be for the dessert & candles; Another day would be to search for hidden presents in our house; Another day we would do a fun activity together, like go bowling or go to the movies, or to the beach. And then we usually have a night to go out to eat as a family, to celebrate the special birthday. We know that many of you are like family to Skye, so that's why I wanted to share a glimpse of our family with you. Hope all is well. As Skye often says, "You are great, You are awesome!" I too was 24 when I served my mission in San Diego California among the Spanish speaking Mexican people. My husband served a mission in South Carolina during the same time. And now Skye is 24 & on his mission, how cool is that?! By the way, 24 is the palindrome of 42, which is the answer to the secret of the universe. =) [Fun fact: the answer to the purpose of life, is to love & to have joy!] =)
