In the spirit of hope in these turbulent times, we are beginning a new series called Viral Life. It is entirely fitting that Charles Chessler Photography and his new project, Faces of Zoom, should be the focus of our inaugural episode. Charles was inspired to create this project in the moments after discovering the "print screen" button on his keyboard during a Zoom conversation with a friend. Since then, he has documented dozens of faces reflecting the state of humanity during this historic pandemic.
Artists have been particularly hard hit by covid-19, many losing both their income and resources overnight. Some have used this time of sequestering to reinvent and create. We are speaking with them about their new endeavors and how they've had to pivot in this brave new world of life, death and art.
