Hat to Hem | Violet Baudelaire Purple Trial Dress | Completing a Commission @HattoHem | Uploaded July 2019 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Did anyone else really love the A Series of Unfortunate Events adaptation? I adored every second and so did Faith! As a long-time fan of the series, she knew she wanted to cosplay Violet Baudelaire at some point but didn't know which outfit to choose. As soon as we saw that the Trial dress was inspired from the artwork in the books, we knew this was the one! I usually try to work with historical ensembles, but as a fan of the books, I couldn't resist this!
This commission consists of a petticoat, dress, and "jacket" made out of purple suiting fabric. In order for her to be able to cosplay the dress from either the trial or the final episode, I made the pocket flaps detachable and bound the neck and armholes in gray bias tape instead of white. I love how this turned out and I think he looks incredible!
