Here we have a lovely example of the first Hoover Constellation available in the UK, model 822.
This cleaner has an extra long 360 degree swivel hose and was designed to be placed in the centre of a room while you cleaned everything around it. The Constellation models that were launched after this one used an airlift system, utilising the exhaust air from the motor to help the cleaner glide along. This first model does have a blowing outlet, but did not float on a cushion of air.
After a clean and polish, this old vacuum looked very good for its age, though it was hiding a nasty surprise. Since filming the video, this cleaner has been cleaned and polished and that nasty suppressor has been removed.
