This is a song that I only knew through Mario Lanza’s dazzling radio show performance.
Full of fantastic imagery and sentiment it was written by Johnny Lange, Hy Heath and Sonny Burke.
I’ve only recently discovered it is a huge gospel favourite, recorded by Elvis Presley, Mahalia Jackson, Dionne Warwick and Whitney Houston.
