Recorded on the final day of Vince Guaraldi’s life, this single off the March 20 double premiere soundtrack release “It’s Arbor Day, Charlie Brown & Charlie Brown's All Stars" is the ethereal “Rain, Rain, Go Away (Rain, Gentle Rain).”

Guaraldi first composed this theme for 1966’s “All Stars”, the second Peanuts® primetime special. This version, from 1976's "Arbor Day", Guaraldi’s last recording, is another wonderful composition and performance that brings the feelings that only Guaraldi can manifest.
Both the “All Stars” and “Arbor Day” specials revolve around baseball, its ups and downs, and the feeling you get when you are rained out of your beloved game. This song perfectly captures those feelings, ushering in the baseball season, and proving that every season is “Guaraldi Season.”
In 2026, we are celebrating 75 years of Vince Guaraldi’s professional music making career. He began his recording career in 1951, and never stopped until his untimely passing 50 years ago today, February 6, 1976. This song was recorded on that day.
"It's Arbor Day, Charlie Brown" is celebrating its 50th anniversary and “Charlie Brown’s All Stars!” is celebrating its 60th anniversary. The soundtracks will be available in the following configurations on March 20th, 2026: A double soundtrack, single disc Biovinyl LP in Black and Forest Green, a CD and digitally. The LP comes in a gatefold package celebrating the bookending of ten years of Vince Guaraldi Peanuts® scores. Also in a special Baseball and Glove-shaped LP 45 RPM exclusive variant for Record Store Day on April 18, 2026.
"All Stars," the 2nd Peanuts primetime special following "A Charlie Brown Christmas" aired 6-8-1966. The album is performed by the Vince Guaraldi Sextet - Guaraldi (piano), Eugene “Puzzy” Firth (bass), Eddie Duran (guitar), John Coppola and Frank Snow (trumpet), and Lee Charlton (drums).
"Arbor Day" was the 15th and final Peanuts special Guaraldi composed and performed. Guaraldi passed away on February 6, 1976, the day he recorded this wonderful music, at the age of 47. The Trio features Guarladi (piano), Seward McCain (bass), and Jim Zimmerman (drums), who were with Vince when he passed away in Menlo Park CA. The special aired several weeks later on CBS 3-16-1976.
Both specials were written by Charles Schulz, and produced by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson. "Arbor day" was directed by Phil Roman and Melendez and "All Stars" was directed by Melendez.
Available for the first time ever on Vinyl, CD and digital. The record was mixed and mastered for audiophiles, jazz lovers, and Peanuts fans everywhere. Clark Germain mixed "Arbor Day" at WonderWorld Studio, Vinson Hudson restored and mastered the record including "All Stars" and Sean & Jason Mendelson produced the record. The gatefold edition includes a 6-page insert with art from the special, liner notes by Sean & Jason Mendelson, and Derrick Bang (author of "Vince Guaraldi at the Piano").
The record is made out of BioVinyl to reduce its carbon footprint, with sustainably forested paper and in a compostable PLA bag. In 2026, for every copy of this record sold, LMFP will contribute $1.00 to the Arbor Day Foundation, with a minimum annual donation of $12,000 leading to the planting of one tree is a forest of need. Purchases of the album will not be tax deductible.
