Soul (my good boy with the long flowing hair and no mouth) can’t die, but that doesn’t mean he’s invincible. There’s a special artifact that can seal him inside if it draws blood, which this other demon, Torture (I know I’m very creative with names) finds and steals from a human using very excessive measures and impales Soul on it to seal him in the artifact them toss it in the ocean so he can’t stop him or other demons from doing whatever they want. Torture is that confident jerk type, likes to play with his victims like a cat with a mouse, and seems to have a personal grudge against Soul. So in the part, he gets the staff, finds Soul, mocks him, fights him, stabs him and seals him in the staff and ends with him having complete power over Soul, who can’t really do anything from within the staff. The little spinning staff part is basically Soul trying to get out but is inevitably overcome by the staff’s sealing abilities.
Basically Torture is the reason Soul missed 500 years, was presumed dead, and doesn’t understand basic street laws.
