I didn't understand that Freydis' dad took these decisions of killing the captain and kidnapping her son for these reasons : okay, I got that he did it for saving his people because he wants to force her people to stay in his village, but it's also a lot because he didn't want for her to have the last word, to have the power in this situation, and because he didn't want to admit his own failure with Greenland. Freydis was right to go against him and to go to Kattegat to find solutions : she found Leif, his new ship and his dream of a new land. So now, they can go together to find it.
Yes, before they had to deal with Magnus claiming the throne of Norway, with Harald coming back home and not defending her, being okay with her getting burnt… I'm clearly disappointed by that, even if he supported Leif and Freydis after they managed to escape (and only after apparently). Their reunions and their goodbyes, Leif and Harald, and Freydis and Harald, were really nice, more than what I expected. But for me, this final episode represents this final season well : everything is well written for Freydis, Leif and Canute stories/developments, but not that much for Harald. The arc in Constantinople was interesting but way too long, so his character came back only now and everything felt rushed about it.
I'm not sure I need to mention how much I cried for Canute dying after declaring one again his love to Emma, or how much I love the fact that Godwin tries to go against her but she shows she still has ressources. Meaning these two will continue to "play" together for a long time. Or that I got emotional when Harald asked FINALLY about his son and Freydis told him he got his smile, and let the door open for a potential meeting, one day… I didn't have it, I'll create it myself on my mind, be sure of it.
