Vietnam veterans and U.S. Army G.I.'s describe in their own words the horrors of the American war in Vietnam and their resistance to it. They denounce the racism with which the Army tried to indoctrinate them and express solidarity with their Vietnamese counterparts, who are pictured marching in resistance.
The film begins and ends with the rejection, during a ceremonial public protest, of war commendations and medals by the soldiers who received them.
