A Boeing 787 rotated late departing Munich on August 15th, 2026, struck its tail, and ran off the end of the runway before getting airborne. The Vietnam Airlines flight climbed out, dumped fuel, and returned — overrunning the runway a second time on landing. All 271 passengers and 16 crew were unharmed. German and Vietnamese authorities are investigating; no cause has been confirmed.
