In the Spring of 1972, the Vietnam War entered one of its most intense phases as North Vietnamese forces launched a major, multi-front offensive across South Vietnam.
As the United States pursued peace talks and withdrew its ground forces, South Vietnam faced the Easter Offensive with waning American support.
Operating across the country, ITN reporters and camera crews recorded defining images of the conflict as it shifted from guerrilla warfare to large-scale, conventional combat.
Their reports captured a war entering a new and increasingly brutal phase for the people of South Vietnam, as North Vietnamese forces consolidated gains made earlier in the year and the United States continued to reduce its involvement in the conflict.
